ASHTEAD UNIVERSITY OF THE THIRD
AGE
Are you retired, or no longer in
full-time employment?
Would you like an opportunity to meet like-minded people, to pursue your
interests and to take up new ones?
Ashtead U3A is a friendly, informal
organisation, offering a fresh approach to life-long learning.
We
organise our own activities, sharing our skills, knowledge and
experiences.
We hold sociable monthly meetings with an outside
speaker
normally on the
first Thursday afternoon of the month, at the Ashtead Peace Memorial Hall
.
Since we were formed
in September 2006, we have gained some 430 local members, and now have
a long waiting list. Our 40+ study and leisure groups cover a very wide range of
subjects including antiques, art and music, bridge, computing, current affairs,
history, languages, literature, luncheons, philosophy, and walking.
We also organise a varied programme of social activities and Days Out in London.
NEXT MONTHLY MEETING:
Thursday 5th June 2008 at 14.30
Guest speaker: Jill Fraser, mother
and part-time reporter/researcher for ITV's Heart of the Country, on
More Tea, Less Vicar, or
How to Survive in an English
Country Vicarage when you're not the Vicar!
Admission for visitors £1,
refreshments 40p
