ASHTEAD UNIVERSITY OF THE THIRD AGE
Are you retired, or no longer in full-time employment?
Would you like an opportunity to meet like-minded people, to pursue your interests and to take up new ones?
Ashtead U3A is a friendly, informal organisation, offering a fresh approach to life-long learning.
We organise our own activities, sharing our skills, knowledge and experiences.
We hold sociable monthly meetings with an outside speaker
normally on the first Thursday afternoon of the month, at the Ashtead Peace Memorial Hall.
Since we were formed in September 2006, we have gained some 550 local members. We offer Associate Membership to potential members instead of maintaining a waiting list. This allows for participation in all activities except monthly meetings.
Our 50+ study and leisure groups cover a very wide range of subjects including antiques, art and music, bridge, crafts, current affairs, genealogy, history, languages, literature, luncheons, philosophy and walking.
We also organise a varied programme of social activities and Days Out in London.
Study Days organised by the Surrey U3A Network are mostly held at the Menuhin Hall in Stoke d'Abernon.
See http://u3asites.org.uk/surreyu3anetwork/ for the latest programme.
NEXT MONTHLY MEETING at the APMH: Thursday 2nd September at 14.30
Guest speaker: Professor David Phillips O.B.E. talking on "A Little Light Relief"
